{"id":25662,"date":"2020-03-13T15:53:29","date_gmt":"2020-03-13T15:53:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=25662"},"modified":"2020-03-13T15:53:29","modified_gmt":"2020-03-13T15:53:29","slug":"heritage-alliance-submits-budget-representation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=25662","title":{"rendered":"Heritage Alliance Submits Budget Representation"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-18741\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/THA_logo-300x150.png\" alt=\"logo\" width=\"220\" height=\"110\" \/>The Heritage Alliance submitted a Budget Representation following HM Treasury&#8217;s call for representations as part of its policy-making process.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Heritage Alliance writes:<\/p>\n<p>This Budget Representation from the Heritage Alliance proposed the following three funding priorities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A VAT system which incentivises reuse through parity of treatment for the repair and maintenance of existing buildings as compared with new-build;<\/li>\n<li>A commitment to the continuation of the Heritage Maintenance Funds scheme and reduction of the income tax rate on these funds to 20%;<\/li>\n<li>A commitment to the continuation of the Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These proposals, in no particular order, are widely supported and reflect priorities identified by the breadth of our membership.
