\"\"IHBC\u2019s 2020 Brighton School<\/a> conference, on \u2018OLD TOWNS : NEW FUTURES\u2019 sponsored by HESPR<\/a> member Heritage Collective,<\/a> explores the challenging topic of our towns and urban centres, and to help make it more sustainable we are moving much of our CPD support online, so our regular School update on historic local pubs is going digital, as an App<\/a>!<\/h3>\n

Duncan Philips, Chair of the South East Branch which is host to the School, said: \u2018The\u00a0 IHBC\u2019s Schools need to play their role in reducing all our carbon footprints, so moving our regular School pub guide to an online app, with a pdf\u00a0 download option, is a sensible – if admittedly first and small – step forward.\u2019<\/p>\n

Chris Reynolds, who prepared the School\u2019s Brighton pub listing for the App, said: ‘In developing the guide I simply followed the model used in previous Schools \u2013 including the enjoyable experience of visiting and testing the pubs!\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Making the guide into an app – which was carried out the IHBC’s office – was a simple step forward that extends user access while also reducing the amount of paper given out to delegates\u2019.<\/p>\n

Director Se\u00e1n\u00a0 O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018While Schools are going green, we also have to respect our sector\u2019s business model, and which still uses lots of paper resources. However by joining in this new transition to digital, we hope to mark the beginning of a step change in the carbon footprint of our schools and wider CPD support.\u2019<\/p>\n
