Historic England writes:<\/p>\n

…It has been produced since 2002 by Historic England on behalf of the Historic Environment Forum (HEF) and has evolved over time in response to needs and regular evaluation surveys. It currently consists of five separate documents:\u00a0Heritage\u00a0Counts\u00a0\u2013 Annual Research Report,\u00a0Heritage\u00a0Indicators, Historic Environment Overview,\u00a0 Heritage\u00a0 and the Economy, and\u00a0Heritage\u00a0and Society. Historic England now wants to check whether it is doing everything it should for the sector and whether it could be doing more. A review is underway which will explore what options there are for sharing data and analysis differently that might create more public value than\u00a0 Heritage\u00a0 Counts does in its current format, and how it might deliver even greater benefits for a wider audience.\u00a0 As part of the review, Historic England is conducting a survey to capture feedback and suggestions on how things could be done differently. Recommendations from the review will inform any changes following the 2019 publication.<\/p>\n
