As before, the scheme has two streams: a directed call and an open call. The open call will go out in Spring 2020, and the directed call is now live.<\/p>\n<p>Various offices across Parliament have\u00a0drafted projects, which they would like an academic fellow to conduct.\u00a0These projects\u00a0include contributing to\u00a0core work of the office, filling gaps in expertise, building staff capacity and skills, informing parliamentary scrutiny, analysing and evaluating parliamentary practices, or helping to grow Parliament\u2019s academic networks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key dates\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deadline for applicants to submit application: 11:59pm, 19th January 2020<\/li>\n<li>Interviews with applicants: From 3rd February 2020 onwards<\/li>\n<li>Fellowship start date: to be discussed with host office<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify the project they would like to apply for. Please see below for links to proposed projects.<\/li>\n<li>Read the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.parliament.uk\/documents\/post\/Academic%20Fellowship%20Scheme\/Directed%20Call_Guidance%20Note%20for%20Applicants_PAFS.pdf\">Guidance Note for Applicants.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Complete an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.parliament.uk\/documents\/post\/Academic%20Fellowship%20Scheme\/Directed%20Call_Application%20form_Parliamentary%20Academic%20Fellowship%20Scheme%20(1).docx\">Application Form<\/a>and send a copy of the completed form, along with a two-page CV and a sample of writing for a non-academic audience of between 500\u20131500 words (or URL to writing sample of same length), to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:postfellowships@parliament.uk\">postfellowships@parliament.uk<\/a>\u00a0We would also appreciate if you would complete and send us the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.parliament.uk\/documents\/post\/Academic%20Fellowship%20Scheme\/Diversity%20Monitoring%20Questionnaire_Parliamentary%20Academic%20Fellowship%20Scheme.docx\">Diversity Monitoring Questionnaire<\/a>, although this is voluntary. You should mark the subject of the email as: \u2018PAFS: [number and title of project]\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once the application window has closed, parliamentary offices will shortlist applicants and then conduct interviews\u00a0via telephone, Skype, or in UK Parliament. Interviews will take place from 3rd\u00a0February onwards.
