Online booking for the IHBC\u2019s 2011 Annual School in Llandudno (16th to 18th June\u00a0) has opened.<\/span><\/p>\n


\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Lead organiser and IHBC Trustee Nathan Blanchard said: “The Day School is designed to provide first-rate practitioner’s CPD for all our inter-disciplinary membership, with the programme also including the kind of horizon-scanning for opportunities that everyone needs in these cash-strapped times.<\/p>\n

Those attending the Annual School, will also have the chance to examine conservation challenges through first hand case studies \u2013 with expert, on-site guidance \u2013 giving privileged access to this little known but spectacular part of the UK.”<\/p>\n

Sean O\u2019Reilly said: “As always, it\u2019s been a big challenge to balance the need to keep costs down while ensuring the best CPD and\u00a0professional networking experience\u00a0we can provide.\u00a0\u00a0If seeking employer support, of course IHBC members can use the Institute\u2019s CPD resources to highlight the professional value to them of attending this key training event.”<\/p>\n

As well as keeping overall costs as low as possible, while still ensuring a viable event, the IHBC has introduced up to ten bursaries of up to \u00a3200 each for delegates needing extra support.<\/p>\n

IHBC President\u00a0Eddie Booth\u00a0said of the bursaries: \u2018The Annual School is a high point of the heritage calendar.\u00a0\u00a0As well as presenting the state of the art, it also celebrates the fellowship of the Institute.\u00a0\u00a0We are keen to ensure that this event is accessible to all at this most challenging of times and I hope the bursaries will be eagerly sought by those who might not otherwise have been able to attend.\u2019<\/p>\n

Bursary details are provided on the school website when it is launched at the end of the month.<\/p>\n

Separate bursaries will be offered by some IHBC Branches, including Wales.\u00a0\u00a0Please contact your local Branch for details.<\/p>\n

The IHBC will also support the attendance at the School those winners of the 2010 IHBC Gus Astley Student Award able to attend.\u00a0\u00a0They will be presented with their prizes at the IHBC’s Annual Dinner on theFriday night.<\/p>\n
