{"id":24090,"date":"2019-10-01T16:10:18","date_gmt":"2019-10-01T15:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=24090"},"modified":"2019-09-29T19:24:33","modified_gmt":"2019-09-29T18:24:33","slug":"ihbc-supports-new-climate-heritage-network-launch-edinburgh-24-25-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=24090","title":{"rendered":"IHBC supports new Climate Heritage Network launch: Edinburgh 24-25\/10"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-24091\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Climate_Heritage_Network_011019.png\" alt=\"website\" width=\"300\" height=\"356\" \/>IHBC to Exhibit and Present at the upcoming Climate Heritage Network Launch Event in Edinburgh 24-25 October.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>IHBC Policy Secretary Roy Lewis said: \u2018I\u2019m very pleased that IHBC is taking a lead on mobilising the heritage sector on this hugely important issue.\u00a0 Heritage conservation should be seen as part of the solution, not part of the problem.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Historic places often provide a model for sustainable living.\u00a0 Whilst there can be scope to improve things like the thermal performance of individual buildings, re-using historic buildings and regenerating historic places are inherently sustainable activities.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>IHBC Technical Panel Lead John Edwards, who will be presenting at the Launch Event, said: \u2018We can attempt to tackle climate change in a number of ways and one of these will be to make existing buildings more energy efficient and that&#8217;s what my presentation will be about.
