{"id":23705,"date":"2019-08-23T17:30:05","date_gmt":"2019-08-23T16:30:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=23705"},"modified":"2019-08-23T17:30:05","modified_gmt":"2019-08-23T16:30:05","slug":"ihbc-welcomes-new-professional-and-training-support-staff-ramona-usher-and-sarah-cheng","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=23705","title":{"rendered":"IHBC welcomes new professional and training support staff: Ramona Usher and Sarah Cheng"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-23707\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Sarah_Cheng_Linkedin.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-23706\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Ramona_Usher_Linkedin.png\" alt=\"person\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/>The IHBC is delighted to welcome two new consultants to assist in the development of our CPD and accreditation and training support programmes \u2013 which include our celebrated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/mate\/\">MATE<\/a> (Membership Application Training Event) sessions:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/uk.linkedin.com\/in\/dr-ramona-usher-ihbc-442178104\">Dr Ramona Usher<\/a> will lead on delivering the accreditation support, extending their reach to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/branches\/index.html\">Branches<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/hespr\/\">HESPR<\/a> members old and new, and<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/sarah-cheng-72905993\/\">Sarah Cheng<\/a> will help develop learning and training frameworks for the institute and its members.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>IHBC Chair David McDonald said: \u2018I am pleased to welcome Ramona Usher and Sarah Cheng to the IHBC.\u00a0 Ramona will extend the reach of our popular MATE sessions and Sarah will take the lead on training frameworks for national and local Branch programmes.\u00a0 I wish them both well in their new roles.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The voluntary Branch network will be central to these plans, so keep an eye out for our <a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/\">NewsBlog<\/a> updates on progress here.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>IHBC Director Sean O\u2019Reilly offered more detail on the new arrangements, saying: \u2018Our arrangements align closely with commitments in the IHBC\u2019s <em>Corporate Plan,<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/news\/docs\/IHBC%20Corporate%20Plan%202015-20%20-%20'CP20'%20-%20Adopted%20AGM%2019%20June%202015.pdf\">CP20<\/a>, and with our ongoing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/learning\/cpd\/index.html\">CPD<\/a> and related support services.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018These include especially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/news\/docs\/IHBC%20Corporate%20Plan%202015-20%20-%20'CP20'%20-%20Adopted%20AGM%2019%20June%202015.pdf\">CP20<\/a>\u2019s \u2018Aim B2\u2019: to develop the \u2018training priorities framework [to operate] across committee, Branch and other infrastructure\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Our new consultants will operate as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ramona will work two days per week, focussing on delivery and wider professional development support linked to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/selfstarter\/\">SelfStarter<\/a> resources and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/mate\/\">MATE<\/a> sessions, including in particular extending support for accreditation through IHBC membership.<\/li>\n<li>Sarah, at one day per week, will develop the training infrastructure to make sure we are supporting member and sector CPD and training as best we can.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2018Together our new consultants will build on the distinctive character of our professional support and infrastructure &#8211;
