{"id":21681,"date":"2019-02-15T16:19:30","date_gmt":"2019-02-15T16:19:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=21681"},"modified":"2019-02-15T16:19:30","modified_gmt":"2019-02-15T16:19:30","slug":"only-a-week-left-to-enter-localgovs-2019-street-design-awards-closing-28-february-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=21681","title":{"rendered":"Only a week left to enter LocalGov\u2019s 2019 Street Design Awards, closing 28 February 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/StreetDesignAwards2019.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-21208\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/StreetDesignAwards2019.png\" alt=\"graphic\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" \/><\/a>Local Government News magazine has relaunched The Street Design Awards, celebrating innovation and best practice in street design schemes across the UK, with a deadline for submissions of 28 February 2019.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em>LocalGov<\/em> writes:<\/p>\n<p>They are completely free to enter and are open to projects completed by, or on behalf of, local authorities within the past two years.<\/p>\n<p>The Awards are divided into five categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Urban Green Space<\/li>\n<li>Children\u2019s Play<\/li>\n<li>Public Lighting<\/li>\n<li>Pedestrian Environment<\/li>\n<li>Highways<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Entrants will be judged on the overall design of the scheme, the quality and choice of materials used and what the project has achieved within the set budget.<\/p>\n<p>Laura Sharman, editor of Local Government News, said: &#8216;With local government facing unprecedented challenges, it has never been more important to share best practice and reward innovation in the face of adversity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Therefore, I am delighted to announce the relaunch of the Street Design Awards, and would urge councils across the country to put forward their best schemes.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The Awards are supported by the Institution of Lighting Professionals, the Landscape Institute, Play England, and Highways magazine.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for submissions is 28 February 2019.
