{"id":2167,"date":"2010-12-14T12:06:22","date_gmt":"2010-12-14T12:06:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=2167"},"modified":"2010-12-14T12:34:41","modified_gmt":"2010-12-14T12:34:41","slug":"icon-conservation-awards-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=2167","title":{"rendered":"ICON: Conservation Awards 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Icon (Institute of Conservation), the Anna Plowden Trust and the\u00a0Digital Preservation Coalition\u00a0have announced the winners of the 2010 Conservation Awards: \u2018Valuing Excellence\u2019.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\nThe Anna Plowden Trust Award for Research and Innovation in Conservation was awarded to two projects this year &#8211; Tate AXA Art Modern Paints Project (TAAMPP) and Eura Conservation Ltd for the conservation of Edwardian tiled panels using a diamond wire saw.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Digital Preservation Award, sponsored by the Digital Preservation Coalition, went to the MEMENTO Project: Time Travel for the Web \u2013\u00a0Old Dominion University\u00a0&amp; the Los Alamos National Lab, USA.<\/p>\n<p>The Pilgrim Trust Award for Conservation was given to the Perry Lithgow Partnership for its conservation of the Hanbury Hall staircase wall paintings of c.1710 by Sir James Thornhill.<\/p>\n<p>The Award for the Care of Collections went to PRIMROSE (Photographic Records in Museums: Re-Organisation, Storage and Environment) \u2013\u00a0Royal Albert Memorial Museum\u00a0&amp; Renaissance South West.<\/p>\n<p>The Student Conservator of the Year Award was given to Simon Lambert and\u00a0Cardiff University, for The\u00a0carbon footprint\u00a0of museum loans project.<\/p>\n<p>ICON Conservation Awards: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.conservationawards.org.uk\/?dm_i=6S6,BJJS,2RP7UG,WI8J,1\" target=\"_blank\">LINK<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Icon (Institute of Conservation), the Anna Plowden Trust and the\u00a0Digital Preservation Coalition\u00a0have announced the winners of the 2010 Conservation Awards: \u2018Valuing Excellence\u2019.
