{"id":21447,"date":"2019-01-26T16:21:01","date_gmt":"2019-01-26T16:21:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=21447"},"modified":"2019-01-26T18:07:43","modified_gmt":"2019-01-26T18:07:43","slug":"cifa-launches-update-chartered-archaeologist-proposals-for-accredited-members-vote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=21447","title":{"rendered":"Update: CIfA launches Chartered Archaeologist proposals for accredited members vote"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/CIfA_publicationcover_220119.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-21416\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/CIfA_publicationcover_220119.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"430\" \/><\/a>The Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) has launched its Chartered Archaeologist proposals, to \u2018improve the value and meaning of CIfA accreditation and ensure that it is recognised as a benchmark of quality by archaeologists, clients and the public\u2019 and which will be put to vote by accredited members.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>CIfA writes:<\/p>\n<p>In April 2019, at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), accredited members will vote on whether to change CIfA\u2019s by-law to enable the introduction of a Chartered Archaeologist grade.<\/p>\n<p>Members are invited to read the proposal, which has been developed in accordance with Privy Council rules and benchmarked against the requirements for chartered status in other professions.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal document reports:<\/p>\n<p>A Chartered Archaeologist grade is a way for CIfA to bring our accreditations into line with the most trusted and established professional bodies.
