Planning and Placemaking Resource<\/em> write:<\/p>\n The Awards recognise excellence in both planning and placemaking. This means that, as well as recognising outstanding professional planning work, they also reward excellence in planning-related activities such as placemaking, urban design, economic development, housing, regeneration, legal advice and environmental consulting.<\/p>\n Submissions are invited across 25 categories. Entry involves completing a short online entry form for assessment by the expert judging panel.<\/p>\n The awards ceremony itself, which brings together professionals across the industry for a night of both celebration and networking, will take place at a prestigious central London venue. The ceremony for the 2018 awards was held at Savoy Place, overlooking the River Thames\u2026.<\/p>\n Award for best use of heritage in placemaking
\n<\/strong>This award will go to the entry that best demonstrates how a project, plan or organisation has used a place or community\u2019s heritage in a way that has improved, or is likely to improve, the physical or environmental quality of the place or the economic or social well-being of the community. To be eligible, a scheme must either involve the conservation\/preservation of historic buildings or a wider area, or in other ways capitalise on the history of a place and\/or community\u2026.<\/p>\n
