{"id":2120,"date":"2010-12-03T17:34:40","date_gmt":"2010-12-03T17:34:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=2120"},"modified":"2010-12-03T17:34:40","modified_gmt":"2010-12-03T17:34:40","slug":"hlf-2011-250m-inc-45m-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=2120","title":{"rendered":"HLF 2011: \u00a3250m (inc. \u00a345m more)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Helvetica,Arial;\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">HLF has announced an overall budget of \u00a3250m for new grants next financial year (March 2011-12) \u2013 \u00a345m more than the budget for the current year.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\nThis news is the result of the recently confirmed increase in the share of Lottery funding available for heritage\u00b9 and continuing healthy National Lottery ticket sales. \u00a0HLF\u2019s Trustees have decided now to allocate \u00a317m of this substantial additional resource to four programmes. This will give a boost to communities and to important parts of the historic environment during these tough economic times.<\/p>\n<p>Announcing the plans now will also give customers as much time as possible to develop their applications.<br \/>\nThe following budgets have been agreed:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Helvetica,Arial;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a311m for Townscape Heritage Initiative<\/span> &#8211; for grants that help regenerate historic areas with particular social and economic need (\u00a3500,000 to \u00a32m) \u2013 an increase of \u00a31m on 2010-11 budget. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Helvetica,Arial;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a323m for repair grants for places of worship scheme<\/span> \u2013 funding for urgent, high-level repairs to listed places of worship (\u00a310,000 to \u00a3250,000) &#8211; an increase of \u00a34m in England\u00b3 on 2010-11 budget<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Helvetica,Arial;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a321m for \u2018Your Heritage\u2019<\/span> \u2013 popular small grants programme (\u00a33,000 to \u00a350,000) which helps voluntary and community groups to conserve and enjoy local heritage &#8211; an increase of \u00a35m on 2010-11 budget <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Helvetica,Arial;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a317m for Landscape Partnerships<\/span> &#8211; the innovative programme to conserve distinctive landscapes, led by local partnerships (\u00a3250,000 to \u00a32million) &#8211; an increase of \u00a37m on 2010-11 budget<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,Helvetica,Arial;\"><br \/>\nA full business plan for 2011-12, detailing the remaining allocations within the \u00a3250m budget, will be agreed and announced in spring 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Dame Jenny Abramsky, Chair of the HLF, commented: \u201cWe hope this will be heartening news. \u00a3250m will make a real difference across the UK. We think it\u2019s particularly important to be increasing our investment in smaller grants having long seen the heritage benefits of people getting involved at a local level.
