Established in 1959, COTAC’s founding principle lay in its recognition of the need for specialists to properly specify and oversee work involved in repairing and conserving historic buildings and churches at a time when knowledge of traditional building technologies was fast disappearing.

Through considerable voluntary work over the years COTAC has quietly and influentially worked to lift standards, develop training qualifications and help build networks across the conservation, repair and maintenance sector of the construction industry. This has involved national agencies, professional and standard setting bodies, educational establishments and training interests. Much has been achieved but much more remains to be done. Based in the Building Crafts College, Stratford, London, and embarking upon a new chapter in its development, COTAC will launch its 5-year Corporate Plan in January 2019, its 60th Anniversary….

Sign up for the Newsletter HERE

See more on COTAC

The IHBC has welcomed the first digital Newsletter from COTAC – the Council on Training and Education in Conservation – the UK’s conservation skills link body, while anyone interested can sign up HERE.

[1

post-21131","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-ihbc-newsblog
["GET
