It highlights the need for a holistic approach to building design and renovation as one of the predominant and most urgent actions required by Government.<\/p>\n<p>Jim Shannon MP Chairman of the APPG for Healthy Homes and Buildings said: \u2018Our White Paper makes it clear that healthy homes and buildings would contribute to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lower costs to the NHS and a healthier population;<\/li>\n<li>Better educational attainment and workplace productivity;<\/li>\n<li>Reduced emissions, lower energy bills and a lower carbon footprint;<\/li>\n<li>Improved health, wellbeing and comfort;<\/li>\n<li>Greater life chances, independent living and care\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He said: \u2019We are calling for Government to provide a public health focus that considers the indoor environment as much as the external environment, consistent with the fact that most people spend\u00a090% of their time indoors.
