{"id":20292,"date":"2018-09-29T16:43:49","date_gmt":"2018-09-29T15:43:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=20292"},"modified":"2018-09-29T17:41:47","modified_gmt":"2018-09-29T16:41:47","slug":"hes-national-capacity-building-programme-launched-closing-4-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=20292","title":{"rendered":"HE\u2019s National Capacity Building Programme\u2019 launched \u2013 closing 4\/11"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/HE_website290918.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-20293\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/HE_website290918.png\" alt=\"website\" width=\"300\" height=\"177\" \/><\/a>Historic England (HE) has launched its \u2018National Capacity Building Programme\u2019, for projects that run for a maximum of 1 year, with a deadline for submitting grant applications of midnight, 4 November 2018, and funding to begin from 1 April 2019.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>HE writes:<\/p>\n<p>We offer funding\u00a0under this programme for activities and projects which are national in coverage and which promote the understanding, management and conservation of the historic environment.<\/p>\n<p>Our support for building and maintaining sector capacity is focused on the sustainable management and development of the historic environment.<\/p>\n<p>We aim to ensure that those eligible activities and projects for which there is a lack of alternative sources of funding are our highest priorities for support.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Targets for support<br \/>\n<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/historicengland.org.uk\/services-skills\/grants\/our-priorities\/\">Our grant priorities<\/a>\u00a0include activities and projects which strengthen the ability of the sector to reduce or avoid risk to the historic environment by understanding, managing and conserving.<\/p>\n<p>For this programme we\u00a0have three specific targets for support. Activities and projects must help to reduce or avoid risk to the historic environment through at least one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>National-level projects and activities which champion, support and enable third-sector organisations and voluntary groups to reduce heritage at risk and sustainably manage heritage assets by engaging more effectively in the historic environment;<\/li>\n<li>Support for statutory consultees to provide advice to local authorities to achieve the sustainable management of change in the historic environment;<\/li>\n<li>Funding towards projects which enable national third-sector organisations to reduce their reliance on public funding and to increase their effectiveness in their work with the historic environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your activity or project is local\/regional in scope, please look at our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/historicengland.org.uk\/services-skills\/grants\/our-grant-schemes\/regional-capacity-grants\/\">regional capacity building grants programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to apply<br \/>\n<\/strong>The 2019-2020 programme will open for applications on 24 September 2018. Funding will begin from 1 April 2019, for projects that run for a maximum of 1 year.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for submitting grant applications is midnight on 4 November 2018, in order for us to give funding decisions by mid-December 2018.
