Scottish National Heritage (SNH) writes:<\/p>\n

We will launch\u00a0round two\u00a0of the Outdoor Learning in Nature\u00a0Fund in September, with a budget of \u00a3200,000. The money will enable\u00a0more young people to have regular, frequent and\u00a0structured lessons outside\u00a0the classroom. Round two\u00a0is specifically targeted at activities that support\u00a0the Learning in Local Greenspace Project in nine local authority areas across Scotland.<\/p>\n

The \u00a3600,000 Outdoor Learning in Nature (OLIN) Fund launched in March with the aim of supporting more young people to have regular, frequent, structured and progressive outdoor learning experiences. A total of 43 applications were received in the first round in April 2018, of which 16 projects (with an estimated value of \u00a3410,000) were approved for funding.\u00a0 A list of successful projects is included in the press release. Summaries of each project are included as funding agreements are finalised.<\/p>\n

A second round with a budget of approximately \u00a3200,000, will open for applications on 26 September 2018. This is a more targeted round to address gaps in fulfilling the Fund priorities.\u00a0 To help applicants prepare, the Round 2 Information for Applicants document is available below.<\/p>\n

Round 2 is specifically targeted at Tier 2 activity which supports the Learning in Local Greenspace Project in the following local authority areas – Aberdeen City, City of Edinburgh, Dundee City, East Ayrshire, Glasgow City, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire, West Dunbartonshire and West Lothian.<\/p>\n

SNH invite registered charities, constituted organisations and local authorities to submit proposals that will support a minimum of 4 schools to take learning outdoors, starting in spring 2019 and ending no later than December 2020.\u00a0 SNH will fund up to 50% of the cash costs of the project, with funding awards from \u00a35,000 to \u00a335,000.\u00a0 Applications that have match-funding confirmed at the time of applying will have a higher chance of funding success in Round 2 of this Fund.<\/p>\n
