{"id":20011,"date":"2018-08-28T16:10:51","date_gmt":"2018-08-28T15:10:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=20011"},"modified":"2018-08-28T15:30:05","modified_gmt":"2018-08-28T14:30:05","slug":"ihbcs-2018-member-survey-feedback-update-and-forward-plans-for-cp25","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=20011","title":{"rendered":"IHBC\u2019s 2018 Member survey: Feedback, update and forward plans for \u2018CP25\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/JamesC-e1485016690202.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-14739\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/JamesC-e1485016690202.jpg\" alt=\"James Caird\" width=\"250\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a>On 12 April 2018 IHBC trustees reviewed the resoundingly positive results from the most recent <a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=18289\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Member Survey<\/a>\u00a0 \u2013 with headline endorsements including 92% of members satisfied or very satisfied with services, and 94% likely or very likely to recommend IHBC membership \u2013 and agreed both the strategy for the IHBC\u2019s next Corporate Plan \u2018CP25\u2019 and forward plans to ensure that the IHBC remains fit for purpose as \u2018The home of the conservation professional\u2019.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>IHBC Chair James Caird said:<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I\u2019m both delighted and privileged that, during my tenure, we have had such positive feedback in the survey from members of all categories.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;However I am very conscious that all of this success is built on the legacy of previous trustees and volunteers, as well as the hard work of our National Office.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;As the IHBC\u2019s Board too, we do still recognise the challenges faced, but these consistently high levels of positive feedback mark the opportunity to build on our achievements.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;With that in mind we look forward to the next stage of development, which in line with our corporate planning will focus on governance.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018We will be reporting further on the outcomes and responses to our membership survey in future NewsBlogs, offering feedback, clarification and even answers as members and colleagues will see.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018And as we progress, the key message \u2013 and the heart of the strategy \u2013 will be to embed the lessons learned from our \u2018IHBC+\u2019 initiative, of experimental evolution.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018That includes embedding the focus of IHBC+ on the needs of 21<sup>st<\/sup> century conservation practitioners \u2013 as members of all categories, as volunteers, and as stakeholders \u2013 into the structures and governance of a modernised IHBC, fit for members, fit for purpose and fit for the needs of our historic fabric and places.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>At the April Board meeting, IHBC trustees agreed to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adopt the existing Corporate Plan legacy and model as a springboard for future corporate planning<\/li>\n<li>Maintain focus on both income specifically and on resources in general\u2026<\/li>\n<li>Give priority to surplus allocations that add most to those conservation outcomes the IHBC is best placed to recognise, respond to and deliver<\/li>\n<li>Embed the lessons and values from IHBC+ structurally in the IHBC as part of our ongoing constitutional reform and corporate planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Trustees also\u00a0supported the recommendations as follow below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Noting our overall success in progress to date in delivering \u2018CP20\u2019 specifically, and our legacy of corporate planning:\n<ul>\n<li>Adopt the existing Corporate Plan legacy and model as a springboard for future corporate planning\n<ul>\n<li>initially at least, maintaining the three corporate planning objectives used in earlier Plans: Helping people;
