{"id":19392,"date":"2018-06-26T16:17:14","date_gmt":"2018-06-26T15:17:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=19392"},"modified":"2018-06-26T16:17:14","modified_gmt":"2018-06-26T15:17:14","slug":"ihbc-partners-on-draft-nppf-design-featured-in-designing-buildings-wiki-dbw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=19392","title":{"rendered":"IHBC &#038; partners on draft \u2018NPPF &#038; Design\u2019 featured in Designing Buildings Wiki (DBW)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-19393\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/DBW_screenshot_260618.png\" alt=\"website\" width=\"300\" height=\"171\" \/>The IHBC partnership calling for better design standards in the evolving National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) has been featured in the weekly Newsletter of Designing Buildings Wiki (DBW) \u2013 host partner of the IHBC\u2019s Conservation Wiki \u2013 and sent to DBW\u2019s 7500+ registered users, extending further the heritage sector\u2019s reach across the development and construction sector.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The IHBC writes:<br \/>\nThe IHBC and partners including Civic Voice, Place Alliance and the Urban Design Group, have written to the Secretary of State at England\u2019s Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) asking government \u2018to use the opportunity provided by the revision of the National Planning Policy Framework [NPPF] to more forcefully demonstrate the desire of the Government to see better design everywhere\u2019\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The partners write:<br \/>\n\u2018We, the Academy of Urbanism, Civic Voice, Design Network, Institute of Historic Building Conservation, Place Alliance, and Urban Design Group very much welcome the great interest your Ministry has shown in the need for a better designed built environment as demonstrated in the recent MHCLG Design Conference. We have come together to urge you to go even further, and in particular to use the opportunity provided by the revision of the National Planning Policy Framework to more forcefully demonstrate the desire of the Government to see better design everywhere. Whilst the draft NPPF has many positive things to say about the importance of design quality, as currently worded the design paragraphs lack clout.
