{"id":1911,"date":"2010-10-21T15:49:28","date_gmt":"2010-10-21T15:49:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=1911"},"modified":"2010-10-21T15:49:28","modified_gmt":"2010-10-21T15:49:28","slug":"new-zealand-heritage-quakes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=1911","title":{"rendered":"New Zealand heritage quakes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The 7.1 magnitude earthquake that hit the Canterbury Region, South Island, NZ, on Saturday 4 September (and subsequent aftershocks) has had a major impact on the historic heritage of the region.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\nThankfully and amazingly, no human lives have been lost. While many unlisted\/unregistered heritage buildings have been demolished, only a small number of historic places registered under the Historic Places Act 1993 are threatened with demolition due to major structural damage.
