Not only do these discoveries provide us with a fuller picture of the rich past of England, Scotland and Wales, they also create jobs, volunteering opportunities, cultural experiences for visitors and help connect residents to the history of their local landscapes.<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate the sheer diversity and quality of the historic environment in these precious landscapes,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalparks.gov.uk\/\">National Parks UK<\/a>\u00a0is using the joint celebrations of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.europarc.org\/nature\/european-day-of-parks\/\">European Day of Parks<\/a>\u00a0and European Year of Cultural Heritage to launch a new \u2018Special landscapes shaped by people\u2019 publication May 24.
