\"people\"<\/a>The \u2018Isle of Architecture\u2019 initiative and the work of a number of independent heritage trusts have brought the Isle of Man\u2019s architecture to a new audience and generated much debate.<\/h3>\n

\u2018Part of what gives the Isle of Man its unique character is its built environment. From farm buildings to boarding houses to bunkers, the island\u2019s architecture contributes to its sense of place, and makes it attractive to locals and visitors alike. In recent years, a number of developments have highlighted the important work done by organisations and volunteers to help support and promote the island\u2019s built environment\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Over the last two-and-a-half years a significant momentum has built up on the island through the activities of the Building Conservation Forum, the Alliance for Building Conservation and the Isle of Architecture initiative. Combined with the recent planning review, it feels like there is an opportunity now to keep the dialogue going, in a spirit of openness and cooperation.\u2019<\/p>\n
