All of which will be done and applied on a live project, with the building dating back as far as 1498!<\/p>\n<p>The days will be delivered for FREE, with lunch provided.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally on the 10th, FREE return transport will be available from Prescot-Llanwrst.<\/p>\n<p>On the 11th attendees are expected to make their own travel arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>To secure a place, we will need your name and address details if attending as an individual, or if attending on behalf of your company\/employer we will need your company name and an address.<\/p>\n<p>Please correspond with <a href=\"mailto:Richard.MacDonald@Knowsley.gov.uk\">Richard.MacDonald@Knowsley.gov.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">11 May<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Scotland Branch &#8211; Conservation Area Management Training Day<\/strong><br \/>\n10.00am &#8211; 4.00pm<br \/>\nCouncil Buildings, Ayr<br \/>\nCarrick Centre, Maybole<\/p>\n<p>The Ayrshire day will look at conservation area management in Ayr from<\/p>\n<p>soon after designation in July 1968 to the present day, as major proposals by Ayr Renaissance to develop the town centre mean radical surgery in the High Street. We will look at the Conservation Area Appraisal for Central Ayr, assess the impact of the recent THI, and look at strategic ways forward.<\/p>\n<p>Next we will learn about neighbouring Maybole, find out about community-led proposals for enhancing its Conservation Area and discuss with consultants the ongoing preparation of its CA Management Plan.<\/p>\n<p>Further details and <a href=\"http:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/events\/?p=7178\">BOOKING<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">18 May<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>South Branch &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Naval Gazing: Portsmouth Historic Dockyards<br \/>\n<\/strong>This IHBC South Branch conference will be exploring how some of the nation\u2019s most precious naval assets are cared for, as well as the docks and buildings which house them and their related heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Further details and <a href=\"http:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/events\/?p=7206&amp;preview=true\">BOOKING<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">19 May<br \/>\n<\/span><strong>Yorkshire Branch &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Tour of Halifax Piece Hall<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Piece Hall, Blackledge, Halifax HX1 1RE<\/p>\n<p>The Piece Hall is one of Britain\u2019s most extraordinary buildings. Built in 1779 to trade \u2018pieces\u2019 of cloth, it is now the UK\u2019s sole surviving cloth hall and offers a unique window back into our past.<\/p>\n<p>Its near 250-year history has seen the building tale on many transformations \u2013 in Georgian times as a place for trading locally made \u2018Kersey\u2019 and other cloth, later as a gathering point for Victorian spectacles and political rallies. It then became a wholesale marker, before being transformed into a visitor attraction and, most recently, undergoing an extensive conservation programme.<\/p>\n<p>During your visit, we will take you on a journey spanning almost quarter of a millennium. The landscape is now managed by a Community Trust.
