Bob Kindred writes:<\/p>\n

The Institute has noted recently that some local authorities have concluded successful listed building prosecutions but appear not to be aware of the national online Listed Buildings Prosecutions Database or have not notified IHBC or both. The database has recently been updated with several new entries, and forms a companion resource to Historic England\u2019s \u2018Heritage Crime Guidance for Sentencers 2017\u2019.<\/p>\n

The usefulness of the database relies on you.\u00a0 Government best practice guidance has encouraged the submission of outcomes to IHBC to help inform future enforcement activity and is know to have been very helpful to the judiciary when determining cases.<\/p>\n

Further examples are always sought.<\/p>\n

If you have been involved with a case that is not on the database, please forward the details to government@ihbc.org.uk<\/a>\u00a0<\/span> preferably in the format in the online table i.e.: size of fine; costs awarded; the nature of the offence; address; grade of building; type of court (Magistrates or Crown); any other information which would be informative (e.g. a guilty plea or observations by the court) such as a press release or photos.<\/p>\n
