The funding will place heritage at the heart of creating better places for people to live and visit. Communities will shape projects centred on their unique heritage, addressing issues including poverty, health and education.<\/p>\n<p>The successful Great Place projects are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Outer Hebrides: Heritage for People &#8211; \u00a3156,000<\/li>\n<li>Paisley and Renfrewshire: Developing a Cultural Destination &#8211; \u00a3250,000<\/li>\n<li>Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere: PLACE (People, Land, Art, Culture, Environment) &#8211; \u00a3150,000<\/li>\n<li>Glasgow: Reawakening Glasgow\u2019s Canal &#8211; \u00a3340,100<\/li>\n<li>Dunfermline: Lighting up the Auld Grey Toun &#8211; \u00a3288,000<\/li>\n<li>Badenoch Heritage: Bringing the Past to the 21st Century &#8211; \u00a3352,000<\/li>\n<li>Greenock: Stories from the Street &#8211; \u00a3200,000<\/li>\n<li>Falkirk: Landscape, industry and work &#8211; \u00a3462,300<\/li>\n<li>Preston, Seton, Gosford: Heritage Connections &#8211; \u00a3249,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Matt Hancock, UK Government Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), said: \u2018Heritage is what makes our towns and cities unique.
