\"Context<\/a>Richard Guise, David Harrison and Robert Huxford explore Britain\u2019s historic paving in the most recent issue of IHBC\u2019s member journal Context<\/em>, exhorting us to cherish fine streets and paving as much as our fine buildings: but we also need to understand the materials used, how they were laid and how to care for them.<\/h3>\n

The authors write:<\/p>\n

\u2018Few people today can identify the different types of material used in traditional paving, or the different techniques used in laying. Nor is there a record of what we have. Both the knowledge and material is being lost. We cherish fine buildings; let us cherish fine streets and paving in the same way.\u2019<\/p>\n
