IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018The IHBC is delighted to have this formal recognition of the School as our main contribution to the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Our School focusses on \u2018sharing\u2019 experiences, roles and responsibilities as part of any progressive heritage resource management strategy.\u00a0 The School\u2019s innovative approach to shared heritage underpins both inclusive engagement and sustainable protection, themes that map directly to the themes of the European Year of Cultural Heritage.\u2019<\/p>\n

IHBC Northern Ireland Branch Chair and lead organizer Andrew McClelland said: \u2018The School\u2019s keynote speakers represent well the blend of local and international content that will pervade the programme.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Bill Drummond, Scottish artist and\u00a0art provocateur,<\/em> and Finnish conservation architect and adviser Jukka Jokilehto, are both recognised internationally for the kind of new thinking on sharing heritage that conservation needs now more than ever, both to build capacity and to enhance standards.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018We have much more to announce in our School plans, but already I hope anyone interested in the heritage of places \u2013 not least delegates from all across Europe and beyond \u2013 will make Belfast a centre for their European Year of Cultural Heritage in 2018.\u2019<\/p>\n
