All these changes need to pass through the Faculty System before implementation. This conference seeks to guide delegates through the process of understanding and acknowledging significance of church buildings, and summarises the law and Faculty system which must be followed. Case studies illustrate the issues and there will be opportunity to ask questions.

The day promises to be a MUST for conservation practitioners, Local Authority Conservation staff, DAC Members and Church representatives.

Introduction to the day: Jonathan Clarke, Chairman of South Branch IHBC

Richard Peats – Historic England – Why should we care about churches?

Antony Feltham-King – St Anne’s Gate Architects – The re-ordering of All Saints Church

Catherine Roberts – The Diocese of Winchester – The Faculty System, Law and procedures

Joe Elders – C of E Cathedral and Church Buildings Division – Open and Sustainable churches; making our buildings fit for the future in a fast changing society

Simon Goddard – The Goddard Partnership – Common requirements of changes in churches

Kevin Thomas – Ecclesiastical Insurance – Property Risk Management in Churches: A specialist Insurer’s Perspective?.

A hot lunch will be provided.

For more on the Branch see the IHBC website

To book and for more details download the flier and booking form

IHBC South Branch, in association with the Diocese of Winchester, is offering another premium CPD experience on Friday 19 January, at All Saints Church, The Bury, Odiham, Hampshire, exploring alterations and changes to protected churches – ‘NEW ORDER – DIVINE … Continue reading →

[1

post-17586","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-ihbc-newsblog
["GET
