\"Kate<\/a>Kate Kendall, IHBC\u2019s Learning Education, Training and Standards (LETS) Officer, and lead on training for IHBC accreditation, has delivered another well-received Membership Application Training Event (MATE) for the Yorkshire Branch, in York, at the end of November, with next seminar will take place in Manchester on the 25th\u00a0January for the North West Branch.<\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

Kate said\u00a0\u2018it was great to head up to York to talk to prospective full members of IHBC and help\u00a0demystify the application process. There was a really positive buzz at the session, people felt a lot more confident about the application on leaving the Saturday morning seminar.<\/p>\n

One of the attendees said:\u00a0 ‘It was a really helpful and supportive event. I have a much greater understanding of what I need to do to progress to full membership. It has helped me plan targeted CPD to achieve this goal. I found talking to other candidates invaluable and appreciating I\u2019m not the only one with limited experience.’<\/p>\n

Are you thinking about making your full membership application to IHBC? Not sure where to start? Come along to a local Branch or business MATE session: IHBC\u2019s \u2018Membership Application Training Event\u2019!<\/p>\n

The increasingly popular MATE sessions are being hosted in Branches, groups and businesses over the coming months.\u00a0 The sessions help you understand the application and assessment processes and guide you on skills development \u2013 including CPD priorities \u2013 and on approach the all-important case studies that demonstrate your conservation competence.<\/p>\n

These popular sessions offer the opportunity to talk with IHBC staff, colleagues and Full members \u2013 local and national \u2013 and to seek their advice.<\/p>\n

The next seminar will take place in Manchester on the 25th\u00a0January for the North West Branch. Contact Kate for more details lets@ihbc.org.uk<\/a><\/p>\n

Other Branches, businesses and networks are preparing to host formal and informal sessions too, including West Midlands and East Midlands, Scotland and Northern Ireland, as well as the South of Ireland, to tie with the School, so if you are interested on a session make sure your Branch knows.<\/p>\n

It could be your New Year\u2019s resolution to finally get your application in and working with your Branch MATE could be just the kick start you need!<\/p>\n
