The apprenticeships would combine academic education with vocational training to equip future employees with vital skills as well as a degree. This consultation seeks feedback from employers and universities<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chartered Town Planner Apprenticeship Standard Consultation<br \/>\n<\/strong>New apprenticeship standards are being developed as a result of Government&#8217;s apprenticeship reforms in England.\u00a0 These new standards describe the high level knowledge, skills and behaviours required to carry out a defined occupation.\u00a0 The employer led groups developing new standards are called Trailblazers.<\/p>\n<p>Trailblazers develop standards that comply with the criteria set by the Institute for Apprenticeships.\u00a0 The standard must:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Be a short document (maximum of 3 sides of A4)<\/li>\n<li>Describe an occupation which is defined and distinct with minimum overlap with other apprenticeship standards<\/li>\n<li>Require the apprentice to undertake a minimum of 12 months development with at least 20% off the job learning<\/li>\n<li>Include reference to the apprentice having achieved English and Maths to at least Level 2<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The RTPI is working with the Chartered Town Planner Apprenticeship Trailblazer Employer Group to develop a new apprenticeship standard for Chartered Town Planners upon which the Group would like to gain your feedback.\u00a0 A list of organisations represented on the Group can be seen by clicking here.
