However, this building is more significant than most as it was an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.designingbuildings.co.uk\/wiki\/Architect\">architectural<\/a>\u00a0reminder of a government scandal.<\/p>\n<p>The Teapot\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.designingbuildings.co.uk\/wiki\/Dome\">Dome<\/a>\u00a0Scandal of 1921-22 involved bribery and corruption in avoiding competitive bidding on petroleum reserves. It had a damaging impact on the then-President Warren Harding, and the Interior Secretary Albert Fall was sent to prison.
