{"id":1686,"date":"2010-08-20T17:54:57","date_gmt":"2010-08-20T17:54:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=1686"},"modified":"2010-08-20T17:54:57","modified_gmt":"2010-08-20T17:54:57","slug":"hca-new-%e2%80%98place-spotlight%e2%80%99-tool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=1686","title":{"rendered":"HCA: New \u2018place spotlight\u2019 tool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">HCA has launched Place Spotlight, a resource to support the local investment planning process and help local authorities to identify ways to improve their delivery of great places.<br \/>\n<\/span>Place Spotlight supports practitioners to develop a strong vision for a local area and prioritises what needs to be done to deliver that vision by providing advice about:<br \/>\n&#8211; Their progress in meeting local targets<br \/>\n&#8211; Developing their improvement strategy for better quality of services<br \/>\n&#8211; Refreshing local strategies in the new environment.<br \/>\nThe resource takes each of the eight components of a great place and:<br \/>\n&#8211; Describes what constitutes good, great and exemplary performance<br \/>\n&#8211; Uses case studies to demonstrate what place making means in practice<br \/>\n&#8211; Links them to indicators for comparisons with others.<\/p>\n<p>Place Spotlight has been piloted extensively and developed in conjunction with a panel of expert advisers from local authorities, the Audit Commission, Local Government Improvement and Development and the Sustainable Development Commission.<\/p>\n<p>Place Spotlight: <a href=\"http:\/\/skills.homesandcommunities.co.uk\/place-spotlight\" target=\"_blank\">LINK<\/a><br \/>\n<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/skills.homesandcommunities.co.uk\/place-spotlight\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HCA has launched Place Spotlight, a resource to support the local investment planning process and help local authorities to identify ways to improve their delivery of great places.
