{"id":1682,"date":"2010-08-20T17:52:10","date_gmt":"2010-08-20T17:52:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=1682"},"modified":"2010-08-20T17:52:10","modified_gmt":"2010-08-20T17:52:10","slug":"riba-goldfinger-award-to-planning-history","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=1682","title":{"rendered":"RIBA Goldfinger award to planning history"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Luca Csepely-Knorr, a landscape architecture graduate and PhD student at the Corvinus University of Budapest, has been awarded the 2010 Goldfinger Scholarship by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) to assist her research into the work of B\u00e9la Rerrich (1881-1932), Hungary\u2019s first town planner and one of the founders of landscape architectural education in Hungary, and Thomas Mawson (1861-1933), an English town planner and the Windermere garden designer.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\nThe award will go towards her MPhil course at the Art &amp; Design Department, Manchester Metropolitan University during the academic year 2010\/11. \u00a0Luca receives \u00a314,000 to support her research, and pay for her fees during the academic year.<\/p>\n<p>The RIBA Goldfinger Scholarship has been running since 2002, following a generous donation by Ern\u00f6 Goldfinger\u2019s family.
