first year of an IHBC Recognised Conservation Course* can have up to one year free membership of the professional body \u2013 simply join online!<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>IHBC Education Secretary Andrew Shepherd, in the first major announcement with his new role as a trustee, said: \u2018The Institute values the importance of the recognised courses in providing the required skills for our sector.\u00a0 We believe that this offer will make a unique contribution to the upskilling of course participants.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018So I\u2019m delighted that IHBC Trustees have just agreed to offer this additional support to those conservation courses.\u00a0 They deliver content in line with the IHBC\u2019s ICOMOS-compliant professional and specialist standards, our \u2018Areas of Competence\u2019 and can only benefit from such support.\u2019<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018With students on IHBC-recognised conservation courses now able to receive a free year of IHBC membership support as Affiliate members, we are formally linking independent conservation education to our specialist and ethical practice standards.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This way the IHBC is laying the foundations both for the future careers of the students, young and old, and for the best conservation outcomes for the built and historic environment under their care\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>IHBC Recognised Courses are listed on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/learning\/page35\/index.html\">website<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The offer applies to students on courses subject to either Full or Select recognition.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*UK addresses only<\/p>\n<p><u>Terms and conditions<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students must be registered on conservation course currently recognised by the IHBC, while both Full and Select recognition apply (*UK addresses only)\n<ul>\n<li>See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/learning\/page35\/index.html\">details and listing<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The offer is a \u2018taster\u2019 as well as a support, so is a \u2018one time only\u2019 offer for any student<\/li>\n<li>The offer applies only for one year (September to September) at which time renewal may be secured through fee support or payment as follows:\n<ul>\n<li>Anyone on low-income, including students renewing membership, may avail of the IHBC\u2019s other membership fee support, detailed on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/join\/feesupport\/index.html\">website<\/a><\/li>\n<li>If renewed the default will be at a concessionary (50%) rate for a half-year period to the following April<\/li>\n<li>If not renewed, membership, as well as membership concessions, benefits and support, will automatically lapse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Students qualifying for the offer need only fill out the short online <a href=\"https:\/\/ihbc.wufoo.eu\/forms\/s1kboqzs0zxolxo\/\">registration form<\/a>, identifying their course in the \u2018Notes\u2019 section<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Follow
