ensuring that sites under threat are documented, conserved and restored; and helping local people to identify and value cultural heritage\u2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Protecting Bedouin Lived Cultural Heritage<br \/>\n<\/strong>This 15 month intergenerational project will focus on the nomadic Bedouin communities of the Occupied-Palestinian Territories.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Documenting and Protecting Heritage at Rum Kale<br \/>\n<\/strong>A project to undertake recording and prepare management plans for the fortified archaeological site of Rum Kale, an area that is highly affected by the conflict in Syria.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cultural and natural heritage<br \/>\n<\/strong>A project to rehabilitate an ancient spring and its associated square, part of the Palestinian World Heritage Site \u2018Land of Olives and Vines\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preserving Yazidi heritage and identity<br \/>\n<\/strong>This project will engage young Yazidis, and provide them with the relevant training to support them to engage with, record and share their cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Digital documentation of the Qsar es-Said Palace<br \/>\n<\/strong>This digital documentation project will provide a 3D educational model of a historically important palace in Tunis, which has been closed for the last 50 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Heritage skills for peace and capacity building<br \/>\n<\/strong>This three year project focuses on the documentation and protection of two cities of historical and architectural value in south-east Turkey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preserving Syrian Heritage<br \/>\n<\/strong>This project aims to train Syrians in digital documentation techniques in order to digitally document heritage sites at risk.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Integrating Soqotra\u2019s cultural heritage into conservation<br \/>\n<\/strong>This 30 month project will address the needs of cultural heritage on Soqotra, a Yemeni archipelago between Yemen and the Horn of Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enhancing vernacular heritage in As-Samou&#8217;<br \/>\n<\/strong>This two year project focuses on the documentation, conservation and adaptive re-use of vernacular built heritage to address severe conflict damage in As-Samou&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Syrian Stone Masonry<br \/>\n<\/strong>This project will provide a group of Syrian and Jordanian trainees with traditional stonemasonry skills that can be used to repair conflict-affected heritage buildings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Safeguarding Archaeological Assets of Turkey<br \/>\n<\/strong>This project aims to build capacity and raise awareness for safeguarding archaeological assets in Turkey, in particular those in south-eastern provinces.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.britishcouncil.org\/arts\/culture-development\/cultural-protection-fund\/projects\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read more&#8230;.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following the launch in June 2016, the Cultural Protection Fund is now supporting 19 projects working in conflict-affected countries across the Middle East and North Africa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-16231","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-sector-newsblog"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/16231","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=16231"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/16231\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":16233,"href":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/16231\/revisions\/16233"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=16231"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=16231"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=16231"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
