London \u2018Landscraper\u2019 for Google\u2019s Kings Cross HQ"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Google has submitted plans for &#8216;landscraper&#8217; London headquarters, as construction on building that is longer than the Shard is tall is set to begin in King\u2019s Cross in 2018.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Guardian writes<\/p>\n<p>Google has officially submitted plans for its new 92,000-square metre \u2018landscraper\u2019 London headquarters, with the intention of beginning construction on the building in 2018. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and Heatherwick Studios, the team behind TfL\u2019s New Bus for London and the 2012 Olympic Cauldron, the building will stand 11 storeys tall and stretch parallel to the platforms of London\u2019s King\u2019s Cross railway station\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The Heatherwick-designed building was submitted to Camden council and will be the first to be wholly owned by, and designed specifically for, Google outside the US.
