{"id":15745,"date":"2017-05-26T17:31:30","date_gmt":"2017-05-26T16:31:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=15745"},"modified":"2017-05-26T17:31:30","modified_gmt":"2017-05-26T16:31:30","slug":"ihbcs-to-launch-joint-conservation-professional-practice-principles-at-manchester-school-23-june-be-there-and-see-history-and-collect-a-free-copy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=15745","title":{"rendered":"IHBC\u2019s to launch joint Conservation Professional Practice Principles at Manchester School, 23 June: Be there and see history\u2026 and collect a free copy!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IHBC_Cons_Pract_GuideMay2017-e1495816255444.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-15746\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IHBC_Cons_Pract_GuideMay2017-211x300.png\" alt=\"IHBC Conservation Professional Practice Guide May 2017\" width=\"211\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>The IHBC will launch its joint \u2018Conservation Professional Practice Principles\u2019 on Friday 23 June at its Manchester Day School and conference, when delegates will receive free copies \u2018hot off the press\u2019 while lead author, IHBC\u2019s Communications Secretary Dave Chetwyn, will introduce the new <em>Principles<\/em> in the context of the School\u2019s theme, \u2018Transport Infrastructure\u2019.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>IHBC Chair James Caird said: \u2018This is first time the IHBC has developed its own <em>Practice Principles<\/em>.\u00a0 We are especially pleased that they have been produced in a partnership with the Historic Towns and Villages Forum (HTVF) and the Civic Voice, which together represent key user and client groups responsible for the practical and sustainable care of our heritage.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We are also delighted to be launching the <em>Principles<\/em> at our national conference and School, which this year is themed around \u2018Infrastructure\u2019.\u00a0 Our <em>Principles <\/em>sets out the considerable breadth of heritage practice \u2013 even into the most challenging of heritage resources, such as infrastructure &#8211; and how, through our members, informed, conservation-led approaches can help secure the social, economic and environmental well-being of local communities alongside national priorities.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Dave Chetwyn said \u2018These <em>Principles<\/em> offer an overview of built and historic environment practice for conservation professionals across the United Kingdom.
