At a time when Parliamentarians talk localism, it is really up to the civic movement to make the local voice a national issue. With a 33% reduction in conservation officers in local government since 2008, the civic movement really is the last line of defence to champion the importance of the 10,000 conservation areas across England.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Laura Sandys has a direct connection with the foundation of the civic movement and will call on London civic volunteers to join Civic Voice to strengthen the voice of the national movement.<\/p>\n<p>Joan Humble, Chair of Civic Voice said: \u2018It is such an honour to have Laura involved in our Big Conservation Conversation.
