{"id":15439,"date":"2017-04-19T16:07:56","date_gmt":"2017-04-19T15:07:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=15439"},"modified":"2017-04-18T17:09:52","modified_gmt":"2017-04-18T16:09:52","slug":"guidelines-for-cultural-heritage-impact-assessment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=15439","title":{"rendered":"Guidelines for Cultural Heritage Impact Assessment"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/CIfA_IHBC_IEMA_banner2017-e1492531745225.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-15444\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/CIfA_IHBC_IEMA_banner2017-300x35.png\" alt=\"CIfA IHBC IEMA logos\" width=\"300\" height=\"35\" \/><\/a>The IHBC is teaming up with the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) and the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) to produce a guidance document for cultural heritage impact assessment (GCHIA), and develop guidance as authoritative as the Guidelines for Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (GLVIA) has been in its sphere.<!--more--><\/h3>\n<p>IHBC Chair James Caird said: \u2018The project, launched on 19 April 2017, will produce generic guidance which can be used as an evaluation tool in all parts of the UK &#8211; and anywhere else &#8211; for use in formal environmental impact assessments and in less formal situations where impact assessment techniques are needed.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Resources are still being sought to fund the research and drafting stages, with the sponsorship terms linked below.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The IHBC would like to hear from members who have experience in the field of heritage assessment to act as &#8216;critical friends\u2019 in the development of the text.
