\"Loch<\/a>Scotland\u2019s Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is set to undertake significant rural development under a new draft five year plan now subject to a 12-week, closing 3 July.<\/h3>\n

Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park writes:<\/p>\n

The public are being invited to have their say on a five year plan to widen the social, environmental, cultural and economic benefits of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. The\u00a0draft National Park Partnership Plan 2018-2023\u00a0sets out a broad-ranging vision for how the Park Authority along with its partners propose to tackle priorities including youth employment, climate change, outdoor recreation, health and wellbeing and investment in towns and villages.<\/p>\n

A 12-week consultation on the draft plan will run to Monday 3 July. The plan outlines a set of priorities covering conservation, visitor experience and rural development. The plan is the first major piece of work led by the new Convener of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, James Stuart who brings a wealth of experience in sport, recreation and tourism to the role at the National Park.<\/p>\n

He said: \u2018The National Park is a truly special place and this plan proposes how we along with a wide range of other organisations, can work together over the next five years to look after, enhance and make the most of it. By working collaboratively with all of our partners we can achieve a much greater impact\u2019. And that: \u2018The focus is on big priorities for action that are most likely to make a lasting difference to the area, its communities, the people who visit and to the Scottish economy\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Plan guides new development and contains planning policies which will be used to determine planning applications. It covers the period 2017 until 2026 and will be updated regularly (every five years). This Plan replaces the former Local Plan.<\/p>\n
