\"Retrofit<\/a>The IHBC Northern Ireland (NI) Branch and partners, the UAHS (Ulster Architectural Heritage Society) and RSUA (Royal Society of Ulster Architects), host a \u2018Retrofit\u2019 presentation and discussion led by IHBC trustee John Edwards in Belfast on 9 May, from 5-7pm, linked to planning for the Branch\u2019s hosting of the IHBC Annual School, which will take place in Belfast in June 2018.<\/h3>\n

IHBC NI Branch Chair Andrew McClelland said: \u2018As well as welcoming the IHBC\u2019s Education Committee to Belfast on 9 May, to help us lay the groundwork for the Branch\u2019s hosting of the Annual School in June 2018, we are delighted to be able to join with some of the Branch\u2019s longstanding partners here, the UAHS and the RSUA in hosting a talk and discussion led by IHBC trustee john Edwards on retrofit and how older buildings can be damaged by inappropriate attempts to make them energy efficient.\u2019<\/p>\n

Older buildings are at risk from attempts to make them energy efficient. Everyone in the property and construction industry needs to understand that the one size fits all approach is not the answer for millions of older buildings \u2013 that are treated as if they were modern.<\/p>\n
