The cemetery\u2019s significance is recognised by its Grade II* listing on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.<\/p>\n<p>Urgent repairs are being carried out to the Birkenhead\u00a0cemetery\u2019s linked Anglican and Non-conformist chapels to stabilise their walls to prevent collapse \u2013 and fix stonework and carvings which have been hidden for over 30 years. Fallen masonry is being preserved in the hope that the stones may eventually be reused.<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Jerry Williams said: \u2018We believe that Flaybrick is one of the finest locations of funerary architecture in Britain\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Wirral Council with \u00a38,000 of grant funding from Historic England \u2013 has commissioned a Conservation Management Plan for the Cemetry.
