{"id":14926,"date":"2017-02-15T17:30:42","date_gmt":"2017-02-15T17:30:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=14926"},"modified":"2017-02-15T17:30:42","modified_gmt":"2017-02-15T17:30:42","slug":"bringing-heritage-back-to-life-with-virtual-reality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=14926","title":{"rendered":"Bringing heritage back to life with virtual reality"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>The University of Birmingham is developing \u2018Heritage Virtual Reality\u2019 to help people see or revisit what life was in the past, according to the BBC.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Projects include a railway station in Devon in the 1940s, a reconstruction of the Wembury coastline in South Devon and a project to show children in the UK and USA what Plymouth looked like in 1620 and celebrate the 400<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower to America.<\/p>\n<p>The University\u2019s Professor Bob Stone told BBC\u2019s 5 Live radio station \u2018We think that Virtual Heritage is one of the untapped areas for the future of VR.
