\"BSI<\/a>The IHBC has welcomed the launch by the British Standards Institute (BSI) of a new portal providing improved accessibility and functionality in the development of sector standards.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

IHBC Director Sean O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018The new portal offers a more accessible route than previously for skilled practitioners – including especially the IHBC\u2019s accredited members – to shape the standards to which construction professionals and colleagues should work.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018This is particularly welcome as the IHBC\u2019s conservation professionals come from a diverse range of disciplines.\u00a0 Facilitating and diversifying access to the creation of standards will be a huge step forward for all of our members\u2019 varied interests\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018It also adds weight to the IHBC\u2019s decision to promote BS 7913 \u2013 the Guide to the conservation of historic buildings<\/em> – as a key standard for our members, both as historic and built environment conservation specialists.\u00a0 Offering it at a reduced rate has substantially raised its profile and extended access to this critical tool for any conservation specialist.\u2019<\/p>\n

The new portal replaces the Draft Review website and allows suggestions for new standards as well as viewing and commenting on proposed and draft standards being developed by the BSI.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
