It is important that the international standards in conservation that the IHBC espouses continue to represent the core of our professional practice. The Government wants Britain to remain a world leader in professional expertise in the built environment. The professionalism the IHBC represents is part of the core of that objective and it is right that we should take part in shaping its future.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>IHBC Director Sean O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018The IHBC\u2019s officers are consulting on key issues and messages around Brexit, and if you want to offer thoughts please do contact IHBC Vice President Mike Brown in the first instance, in line with the processes described in the NewsBlog link below.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister\u2019s 12 negotiating priorities for Brexit as part of Government&#8217;s plan for Britain after leaving the EU are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Certainty<\/li>\n<li>Control of our own laws<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen the Union<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the Common Travel Area with Ireland<\/li>\n<li>Control of immigration<\/li>\n<li>Rights for EU nationals in Britain, and British nationals in the EU<\/li>\n<li>Protect workers\u2019 rights<\/li>\n<li>Free trade with European markets<\/li>\n<li>New trade agreements with other countries<\/li>\n<li>The best place for science and innovation<\/li>\n<li>Co-operation in the fight against crime and terrorism<\/li>\n<li>A smooth, orderly Brexit<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Heritage Alliance has asked all to get in touch with any statistics on Brexit&#8217;s expected impact and funding implications for their organisations, by emailing href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/arts-industry-will-play-key-role-in-promoting-post-brexit-britain-say-ministers\" target=\"_blank\">Statements<\/a> by Culture Secretary, Karen Bradley, and Minister for Exiting the European Union, Robin Walker, that Britain\u2019s world-class museums, galleries and theatres will play a key role in promoting the country abroad post Brexit:<\/li>\n<li>A <a href=\"http:\/\/researchbriefings.parliament.uk\/ResearchBriefing\/Summary\/LLN-2017-0003\" target=\"_blank\">Lords Library briefing<\/a> with information on the potential impact of leaving the European Union on the creative industries<\/li>\n<li>A <a href=\"http:\/\/researchbriefings.parliament.uk\/ResearchBriefing\/Summary\/CBP-7847\" target=\"_blank\">Commons Library briefing<\/a> looking at the funding received by the UK from EU institutions and considering the implications of Brexit on the EU as a source of funding for regional development, agriculture support,
