{"id":14555,"date":"2016-12-28T16:14:37","date_gmt":"2016-12-28T16:14:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=14555"},"modified":"2016-12-28T16:14:37","modified_gmt":"2016-12-28T16:14:37","slug":"an-extra-32-million-provided-for-english-estate-regeneration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=14555","title":{"rendered":"An extra \u00a332 million provided for English estate regeneration"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>A new national plan and increased funding to boost to English estate regeneration has been announced by the Department for Communities and Local Government, and the Homes and Communities Agency.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As part of a new strategy for regenerating deprived housing estates, an additional \u00a332 million of new funding is now available, along with \u00a3140 million from the estate regeneration fund.<\/p>\n<p>Councils will also get advice on transforming areas from a new national strategy to address common challenges that can stop projects, such as resident protection concerns or finding the necessary finance.<\/p>\n<p>Estate regeneration aims to deliver thousands of additional homes over the next 10-15 years and provide well-designed public spaces and a better quality of life in areas often characterised by poor quality housing and social deprivation.<\/p>\n<p>The strategy was devised after discussions with more than 100 areas across England.
