The Canal & River Trust and National Trust have had their plans approved to restore the Grade II* listed Roundhouse in Birmingham and transform it into an activity and enterprise hub.<\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

The project aims to create a gateway for people to explore Birmingham\u2019s natural and built heritage by foot, bike and boat. The project secured development funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and includes the provision for a cycle hire and repair workshop, volunteering opportunities and a shared working space for conservation organisations.<\/p>\n

The horseshoe-shaped building was built in 1874 by the Birmingham Corporation and was originally used as stables and stores.<\/p>\n
