Looking at average figures over the years of 2013\/4 to 2015\/6, there were around 79,000 cases of self-reported work-related illnesses (64% of which were musculo-skeletal disorders) and around 66,000 cases of self-reported non-fatal workplace injuries (most of which related to slips\/trips\/falls, lifting and handling, and falls from height). Overall, these led to 2.2 million lost working days.<\/p>\n
Construction (similar to Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing, Accommodation and Food Services, Transport and Storage, Manufacturing and Wholesale and Retail Trade) had statistically significantly higher injury rates than for all industries.<\/p>\n
