Bristol Old Vic, Beamish Museum and Bath\u2019s Roman heritage are among eight projects sharing major funding. The \u00a348million investment will save some of the nation\u2019s most significant heritage, create 100 jobs and boost tourism across\u00a0England.<\/p>\n
Sir Peter Luff, Chair of HLF, said: \u2018This investment, every penny of which has been made possible by National Lottery players, is a powerful demonstration of the range, beauty, fascination and significance of our nation\u2019s\u00a0heritage.\u2019\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Eight projects made possible by National Lottery\u00a0players<\/p>\n Sir Peter Luff added: \u2018We must remember that heritage isn\u2019t just about buildings, archives and wildlife, important as these things are. It’s also about the people and communities whose lives they changed in the past \u2013 and will change in the\u00a0future.\u00a0 It’s about the tourism and regeneration that will boost local economies, about the new jobs, the new training programmes and the new volunteering roles that will be created. It’s also about the visitors from all walks of life who will gain new insights into our shared\u00a0heritage.\u2019<\/p>\n Karen Bradley, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, welcomed the news.
