\"Context145\"<\/a>A new editorial co-ordinator for the IHBC\u2019s membership journal Context<\/em> has taken up his post, as Michael Taylor will chair the Context Editorial Board and be responsible for direction and oversight of the journal.<\/h3>\n

IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018Context<\/em> is the premier journal for those keen to keep up to date on what is happening in built and historic environment conservation practice in the UK especially, but increasingly also, far beyond our borders.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018We are hugely indebted to the volunteers and officers that steer its content across the 5 issues that we produce each year to underpin, guide and shape Continuing Professional Development across our membership and beyond.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Indeed recent trials, offering immediate access to its content through our online publication, means that Context<\/em> now reaches an ever wider audience.\u00a0 However only our members can enjoy the convenience of the hard copy publication, just one of the many ways the IHBC supports careers and skills across our inter-disciplinary professional membership.\u2019<\/p>\n

Michael Taylor is a Leicester-based town planner and conservation professional with many years’ experience in local government, English Heritage and, since 2013, as an independent practitioner. He has been a member of the Editorial Board since 1999 and has commissioned feature articles for many issues of Context<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Delighted at his opportunity to chair the Board, Michael said: \u2018Even in a digital world, the copy of Context<\/em> landing on the doormat five times a year is a tangible link between the Institute and individual members.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I am delighted to be leading the Editorial Board after serving on it since it was established in its present form. Over the next few years I hope that we can develop the service that Context<\/em> provides in a positive and responsive way and increase our engagement with Context<\/em> readers.\u2019\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
