As part of the new Government\u2019s Lottery reforms, it seeks views on the draft Order to enact a change to the shares going to the National Lottery good causes of arts, sport, heritage and charitable expenditure, health, education and the environment.<\/p>\n
At the heart of the Government\u2019s intention to restore the National Lottery to its original purpose is the restoration of the shares of the National Lottery Distribution Fund to 20% for each of the good causes of sport, heritage and the arts. \u00a0To ensure that the levels of grant available to the voluntary and community sector are protected, it is proposed to make the change in two stages: on 1 April 2011 to increase the share apportionment for arts, heritage and sport to 18 per cent each of the Lottery and reduce the Big Lottery Fund to 46 per cent; and on 1 April 2012, to increase the shares for arts, heritage and sport to 20 per cent each of the Lottery and to reduce the apportionment share for the Big Lottery Fund to 40 per cent.<\/p>\n
Views are invited on the advantages and disadvantages of these changes for Lottery distributors and for voluntary and community organisations, and if the change would have any adverse or positive impact on particular groups. \u00a0Closing date for responses of 21 August<\/p>\n
